Being a Godly Mom In a Not So 'Norman Rockwell' World
A teacher gave her second grade class a lesson on the magnet and what it does. The next day in a written test, she included this question: "My full name has six letters. The first one is M. I pick up things. What am I?" When the test papers were turned in, the teacher was astonished to find that almost 50% of the students answered the question with the word "Mother."
Yes, our moms do pick things up for us, but their inherent value is worth so much more! The Bible even points out that, "A woman of noble character who can find? She is worth more than riches."
Moms, thank you for your love, time, compassion, empathy, guidance, concern, and confidence; and because of this, we celebrate WHO you are today, tomorrow, and always!
As a result, we’ll be looking at “Being a Godly Mom in a Not So ‘Norman Rockwell’ World”(Proverbs 6:20, 31:10-31; Ephesians 6:2; Hebrews 4:15-16) as we focus on the truth of God’s Word and celebrate moms on this very special day. We’re looking forward to seeing you Sunday at MCBC!
Katherine Wade and her team will be serving Mexican on May 24. This is our last Wednesday Supper until August when school starts back up.
Calvary's Classics will take a trip to the Whistle Stop Cafe on May 26th. This eatery was made famous from the 1991 film "Fried Green Tomatoes," and includes a few shops within walking distance of the locale. The plan is to depart MCBC at 9:45 am and return around 3 pm. Interested? Sign up sheets are located at both MCBC welcome centers.
